I am tired of buying laundry soap. So while my mom was out here, we decided to make some. She has been doing this for awhile now and loves it. I have been wanting to give it a try. It was really easy and is going to save us a TON of money. That's always a plus.

Here is the recipe:
2 cups Borax
2 cups Super Washing Soda
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar - grated (I just used my cheese grater on the small side. If you have a food processor you can use that as well.)
Mix everything together. Use 1 Tbs for each laundry load. It'll look like this when it's done.

It was super easy and super fun to make. I think it is going to last us a long time too. I have used it and really liked the results. It makes your clothes smell good. So next time you are at the grocery store you'll have to pick up some ingredients and make your own. For those of you in Morgantown, the Kroger at the Suncrest Town Center has these ingredients. I am pretty sure they had the Borax. If not, Walmart has it.

I'm totally going to give this a try!
Melanie, I have a recipe that is similar to this (it has all the same ingredients), but it's liquid. I haven't tried it yet because I am wanting to get some lavender oil to put in it. :)
