Old Stuff + Spray Paint = Whole New Wardrobe

Sorry I haven't posted many projects lately. I have been doing a lot of revamping of my wardrobe. Most of my revisions are just turning pants into shorts and taking in shirts so they fit better. Nothing really blog worthy so I haven't posted. Sorry. However, recently I have had a love affair with ... spray paint! Seriously that stuff is amazing. I have taken a lot of things in my closet that I no longer wear and have been able to turn them into something much more wearable. Here are some belts that I painted. The before colors were (in order) light blue, mustard yellow, black, and orangey red. Now they look like this...
I love the pink one. It'll be so fun over an all black dress. Can't wait until I can wear dresses again. These next shoes I have loved the style but not so much the color. Now I wear them all the time. They are a great black sandle. These ones were grey before and I painted them a really fun red. I love how glossy they are. Can't wait to wear these ones! Here are a few others I painted. The white shoes were ones I had and the other ones I found at Walmart for $1. Can't beat that! I am going to do this to the blue pair as soon as I can find the right glitter. These next ones I found at the Salvation Army for $2. With a can of torquoise spray paint I turned them into this... For these shoes I taped off the black sole around the bottom. I think it looks better. But for most of the other ones I just sprayed the whole shoe. I also put some grocery bags inside the shoe to keep the inside from being sprayed. I don't think it would really matter, but I just didn't want to be walking on spray paint all the time. I just used the $3 spray paint from Walmart. I highly recommend priming your shoes before you paint them. It helps the paint to stick much better.

And those are a few of the things I have been painting lately. It's been really fun. Now every time I go to Goodwill or Salvation Army or even the DI when I head back to Utah, I always have to look at the shoes. If you like the style, you can paint them any color you want. Fun! I have another pair of shoes I am trying to fix but haven't finalized my idea yet. I even have a few necklaces in the works. They will be super cool if they end up turning out like how I am envisioning them. And yes, I am planning on spray painting the beads. :) And that's all for now. I'll post more later as soon I get my next stash done. Until then, happy spray painting -because I know you are all going to try it now. :)
