Touch 'n Feel Blanket
I have been dying to make this blanket for a couple of years now. I saw one in our student ward and just loved it. I got the idea from a lady in our RS who made a similar blanket for her little girl. My favorite part was the ruffled squares that she had in hers. I used some left over fabric that my mom gave me after my sister had used it to make a scripture bag. It took longer than expected to find the pink satin that matched, but I held strong and finally found something that would work. I think the finished product is pretty cute.
I used fabrics with different textures so that she would have fun playing on it. Hopefully her "tummy time" will be a little more enjoyable with this blanket. And to add a little spice I put zebra fleece on the back.

How fun! Do you mind if I copy thus idea to make Madeleine's tummy time a little more zippy?
Katie, I would comment on your blog but I can't view it. :( Anyway, you can copy away on my blanket idea. I'm glad you like the idea enough to want to make your own. Good luck and I will be excited to see yours when it is all done.
I didn't realize I hadn't added you to the readers' list. I just sent you an invite...let me know if you don't receive it. Thanks for letting me know! I will be sure to show you my version!
Melanie,
I started checking your family blog because I knew Devin (and sister Melanie) in high school. But, I just love your craft projects so much I keep coming back. You're amazing! I especially love how you make things from what you already have. Of all the craft blogs I've seen--the things you do most inspire me to want to try myself. Hope things go well in the coming weeks with your baby. I'm excited for you...but kind of sad that I know it will mean your "crafting" will probably take a back-burner for a while. =)
(It's for a good cause.) Thanks for your posts!
