For My Sanity

I have been busy getting ready for the craft fair tomorrow, and our car has been in the shop since Sunday night, so instead of driving myself mad by sitting around doing craft fair stuff all the time wishing I could run to the store, I decided to keep myself busy. Here are some of the projects I finished up this week to help keep me sane.

This first one is out of a baby dress/tunic pattern that I love. I have made a few dresses out of this one before and really liked them. I have had this fabric for awhile and didn't know what to do with it until I ran across some bias tape that matched. Then I knew that I needed to make it out of this dress/tunic pattern. And I think it was a good fit.
The best part is, it is completely reversible. The tutorial isn't, but I figured out how to do it. :) It'll be fun to have a two dresses in one!
I got a package this week from my mom with stuff for the craft fair from my sister, and in there was an old cut up tablecloth. My mom knows how I like to be creative with random things so she sent it. And she was right on with this one. It made the cutest jumper for Amy. I love how it turned out! (sorry it is wrinkled I didn't want to turn the iron on. he he)
I also made Amy a few pants out of old sweater sleeves. They will keep her extra cozy this winter.
And this last one I just love!!! It is out of a pant leg that my mom sent me after cutting her pants off to make capris. Kind of a random thing to send your daughter, but it is one of my favorites. It was the perfect size for a little skirt for Amy, and let me just tell you that it is SO CUTE! I put it on her the other day and now I think she needs to wear it all the time. This picture really doesn't do it justice. But it looks so cute with all her little leggings. All around it is a perfect denim skirt.
Anyway, those are a few of the things I have been up to lately. I have done a few other projects not related to sewing, but they aren't quite finished yet so you will have to wait to see those. But they are cute too! And that is the update for now. I'm sure my next post will be about the craft fair so stay tuned for that.

I just love all of the clothes you can make out of the most random things...I wish I had a brain like yours! But, that idea you gave me for my mom, I've been running like the wind with it. (not sure if that analogy quite worked). But I'm seriously so excited with how it's turning out, it's all I can think about/do! So THANK YOU THANK YOU for the idea! I can't wait till you can see the final product!

Melanie, will you come over some time soon and help me make a jumper like this one out of my plaid material? I want to make one for her to wear for the Christmas season. We'll have to chat!
