Christmas Tree Skirt

My friend Shilo ran across this really cute Christmas tree skirt pattern and wanted to make one. So we got together the other day and got busy. I LOVE how it turned out! Here is one side:
And here is the other.
We ended up not following the directions exactly because we wanted to make it reversible. As a side note, you probably don't need ties or buttons or any type of closure. Once you get it around the tree it won't lay straight when it is all tied up because it is not a full circle. I just ended up overlapping the ends and not using the closures at all. It stays down fine. If I make another one I will not do the closures. However, I do like the look of the big buttons. When that side is on the tree I make sure the button flap is up. It looks fun. :) If you did want to actually use the closures I might cut out a triangle chunk of the circle instead of just cutting a straight line. That will make sense once you get to that point in the pattern. Sorry if this is all confusing.
Anyway, it was a ton of fun to make and I am so happy to actually have a tree skirt now. Much better than the fleece I had wrapped around the tree trunk last year. Scary!

Mel it looks really good. And what a great idea to make it reversible. I wish I had room for a tree so I could make a cute tree skirt too.
