Dry Erase Activity Book

Amy loves to color. She really likes chalk. But since I don't want to spend all my days on the back patio I needed to make her something she could color inside. My sister showed me this super cool tutorial on Dry Erase Activity Books. I thought it was a great idea so I got busy and made her one. I used an 8x8 scrapbook since I had one on hand.
I found some washable dry erase markers (brilliant!) and velcroed them to the front cover.
Here is a look at some of the fun pages inside:
I used quite a few of the ladies pages that she had posted on her tutorial but also came up with some other ideas of my own. Here are some of them:
Amy found the dry erase markers earlier today and HAD to play with them. So I pulled out of my "to do" pile an ABC book that I had started years ago. She liked it so much I should probably finish it. But now she has a really fun activity book that can keep her busy so this one can go back on the shelf. :) *She has pretty sweet coloring skills huh. :)
This idea really is ingenious and would be great for long car trips or plane rides. You can put games like tic-tac-toe, hangman, word puzzles, mazes, traveling bingo, I spy's, sudokus, etc. If you have older kids they could play with each other and entertain themselves. You can really tailor them to your kids interests and ages. It was a great find and was actually a lot of fun to make.

Very cool! I like your additional pages. I can't wait till Madison is bigger so she won't just eat the markers :)

That is awesome! Okay, I am going to need to make one of the those for Miss Maddie. Maybe sacrament meeting will be a little quieter in the coming weeks...maybe.

Thanks!

Very good idea. I got something like this for Brayden for church with church activities. That would be a good spin on it for a church book. They did things like "draw nephi's boat" and "draw faces on the gadianton robbers" and such.

OOHH Mel, you just inspired me! I'm so excited, because my next door neighbor is planning a 4 hour plane ride with 5 kids all by herself, and as her Visiting Teacher, my companion and I thought we would make her a "Plane survival kit" to send off with her, so I'm going to HAVE to use your wonderful idea!! You are awesome!!

I love the pages you used! Is there any way I could get them? Whether you could send them to me or tell me where to get them? Also, did you just lamanat the pages or use just a sheet protector? I want to make on of these for Huttson I think it'll be perfect for church!! Thanks so much!!
