Bedroom Pillows

I don't know why - it must have been Spring fever - but I decided awhile back that I wanted to redo my bedroom and living room and I have recently added to the list Amy's room. It must be because we have actually stayed put in this apartment longer than a year and I am getting the itch to redecorate. I even made new kitchen curtains. But for some reason, I am having a hard time deciding what I want to do. Especially on our LR pillows. I want to make something really cool that I will be happy with for awhile. Maybe I am just overthinking it. Who knows. But I did finally figure out my bedroom pillows. (Just don't ask me how many different ideas I had. Yikes!) Through a lot of trial and error this is what I came up with.

I have 2 big cream flanged pillows in the back. I still need to reinforce my flange so that it will stand up straight, but you get the general idea. Next I have 3 very fun ruffle front pillows. I actually made them out of a curtain I bought at Target. It was on sale. Bonus!
Next are two square button centered pillows based on this pattern.
And for the front Devin helped me decide on this pillow.
And those are my new bedroom pillows. I promise they look better in real life. They go really well with the rug we have under our bed and our black leather bedskirt. However, I think that was my biggest struggle with these pillows. I really like our bedskirt and rug but wasn't sure if I wanted black and cream in my room forever. But after I fought with it for awhile I just decided to go with it and am glad that I did. They turned out great. However, next time I get the itch to redo my room it will probably look a lot like this.

Oh yeah, this is a pillow that I made for my bed and then changed my mind. That happened a lot. :) But it is currently sitting on our storage ottoman by our piano which is in our room (we are renting and didn't have room anywhere else). And it looks great. And if we ever have room for a nice comfy chair in our room it can go there. So no harm done. I used this tutorial but added a border around it.
For more pillow ideas click here for my pillow post. I am still planning on using Martha Stewart's boxy pillow idea for Amy's storage bench in her room. Whenever I get around to her room that is. I am currently working on our LR pillows (along with a million other things) and haven't got the combination down yet. It'll get there though and when it does I will post some pictures. Wish me luck!

I love how your pillows turned out! They look fabulous. Aww...if only we could redecorate every season. Wouldn't it be fun to have a limitless decorating/crafting budget?

Oh, and if you don't get your living room pillows done in the next two weeks, let's get together and I will work on mine too. Then I will finally have the motivation to get it done!
