Project of the Month - Pillows

As per the voting results, this month's project is going to be something for the home. I am currently in the process of remaking pillows for my bedroom and living room (I think I have a bad case of Spring fever and just want to give my whole house a fresh new look) so I have been looking around for fun new ideas. And I ran across some really cool ones. Without any further adieu, here is my Top 5 Pillow Tutorials, in no particular order:

1. Pleated Front Pillow: I love the way this one looks. It's a great way to doll up some plain boring fabric. Yet it is a very understated pattern. I already have plans to make 2 of these!
2. Ruffle Front Pillow: Confession. I have already made one of these. :) I just think they are so fun. Another great way to spruce up a pillow.
3. Felt Circle Pillow: I LOVE the way this one looks. What a great way to add some texture to your room. I haven't made one yet but really want to. Don't you just want to rub your hand on it?

4. Tailored Throw Pillows: These ones are fun. I love how with just one simple step you can totally change the shape of your pillow. These would be great for window seats, benches, seat cushions, or even as a throw pillow on your couch. This one is definitely on my list.
5. Textured Pillows: So you know how expensive that tucked fabric is at the store? Well, now you can make your own. What a great way to add a little drama to some otherwise bland fabric.
BONUS. I know I said I would do 5 but I just love this Amy Butler pattern for an Hourglass Pillow. I have already made a couple of these ones too. It gives even more interest to some great fabrics. (Click here for some other free Amy Butler patterns.)
Anyway, those are a few of my favorites. There are a million other tutorials out there if you just take a minute and look. Hopefully there will be one here that will help inspire you to create something wonderful. I think that some new throw pillows has the same effect on a room as a fresh coat of paint. It's not very expensive but can really change the look of your room. So have fun this month making pillows! I know I will. :)
