Lacing Game

Amy is growing up and no longer is happy with her supply of toys that we take with us to church. So I needed to make something else for her to play with. Last week she went over to the family sitting next to us and they had a lacing game. She loved it! She sat so still while Suz helped her with the lace. I had run across some tutorials on how to make them awhile ago but never got around to it. So this week I finally got to it. They were very easy to do and turned out great. Don't you just love the bright colors?
I used this tutorial except that I printed my pictures out on normal paper and glued two sheets of cardstock to it to make it more durable. (Elmer's no-wrinkle rubber cement is good stuff!) I also put clear contact paper on the front. ust to help them stay nice. I let the glue and stuff dry overnight and then I cut them all out and punched the holes through all the layers. Super easy. Now hopefully she will like them. :)
What are your favorite games for church or airplane travel (we are going to need those soon too)?

So, as far as air travel, I read about an idea that worked great this fall when we had 12 hour+ flying days. I wrapped up little toys that I found in the dollar section at Target in wrapping paper, and would give her a new one every hour or so. This kept this interesting, and gave her a new toy throughout the trip.
