More Revamping

This last weekend Amy and I spent some time in Morgantown while Devin worked away on his final paper in Pittsburgh. Without any cable or internet I was able to get a few painting projects done. I finished painting the mirror that I tore all the roses off. It's nice to finally have it done. I also painted a lamp that still needs a new lampshade. Then I worked on some more jewelry. This necklace was originally a weird black and purple bead. So I painted it silver. It didn't turn out quite the color I wanted, but it looks better than it did before.
This one had some tan beads for the necklace part. I really liked the look of the necklace but not the color. So I spray painted them black. Much better.
I also decided to spruce up a few of my jackets. I painted the buttons on this one a brighter silver instead of the pewter they were before.
And for this coat, I painted them black. I know the picture is terrible, but it does look better.
To paint the buttons I put the whole coat in a garbage bag and pulled the buttons through some tiny holes that I cut in the bag. I then put tape around the hole I cut just to make sure I didn't get any paint on the coat. Worked like a charm. It has been fun making a few changes to my jewelry and clothes. Makes me feel like I have a whole new wardrobe for a fraction of the cost. I have a whole bag of shoes I want to paint, but those will have to wait until I decide what colors to do. I also found some capris at the goodwill here and turned them into pregnancy shorts. It's surprisingly easy to turn non-pregnancy clothes into pregnancy ones. I only had one pair of sorts so it'll be nice to have a few more options. I figured I would probably be pregnant a few more times so it was ok to get some more clothes. :)
