Morgantown Quilts

We had a baby shower yesterday for the next two ladies out here having babies. It was an Aloha theme, which also inspired their quilts. Here are the finished products. The first one is for Michelle who is having a girl. I think the flower is so fun!And this one is for Katie who doesn't know what she is having yet. It is going to be a surprise! The palm tree is nice and gender neutral and I love how it turned out.
Here's the back, just in case you were wondering. :)
I got to bind these quilts. It was my first real quilt binding ever and I am actually pretty happy with how they turned out. I loosely followed these instructions on how to bind a quilt: Part 1 and Part 2. They were great on how to make your binding tape and for the corners. It really made binding these quilts pretty easy. It was fun to get to work on these with everyone. And the best part is that they loved their quilts. Hooray! I can't wait for the next batch of baby quilts. It'll be fun to see what we come up with. :)

LOVE THESE! Are they simple to make?

They weren't too bad. The designing is the fun part. All the pieces are just free hand. So you can't really mess those up. Then you iron on the pieces to your quilt. Then you stick your fabric layers and batting together with spray glue and then machine quilt them together. I am not sure how complicated that part is, I didn't do it, but here is a link to how to do free motion maching quilting on your normal machine...

Hope that answered your question.
