So if you are like us, we have a few white shirts with stubborn underarm stains. I have recently found out that they are not because we sweat a lot, but rather it is a build up of our deoderant. Interesting. Anyway, my mom told me about this great way to clean those stains. I tried it just this week and it worked! Yeah!! So here are the instructions for any of you who may be interested.
Supplies:
Biz laundry detergent
Bleach
Directions:
-Mix the Biz with some water to form a paste. Place the paste on the underarm stain and scrub into the shirt. Let sit overnight.
-Fill your washer up with HOT water. Carefully put some bleach (I think I used 1.5-2 cups of bleach - read the directions on your bleach bottle) in the hot water. Once the washer is filled up, turn it off before it washes your clothes. Place the white shirts in the washer and let soak for a few hours or for how ever long you want. Then turn your washer back on and wash your clothes. I washed them twice just to make sure I got all the bleach out of my washer. Then dry and you are done.
*For a few of my shirts that I didn't want to shrink, I placed them in the water after it had cooled off a little bit.
Simple right?! I know, I told Devin about it and he was a little skeptical. But it worked! On a few of the more stubborn stains I might have to follow the process more than once, but I am glad to finally have something that will get those stains out. Now I don't have to throw all those clothes away. Hooray! Thanks Mom for the great tip.
