Keeping Busy

We have been snowed in for almost a week now. Devin has been working on his law review article quite frequently. With no where to go and no husband to entertain that has left me with lots of time to sew. I decided to play catch up on a lot of projects that I have started and not quite finished. So here is what I have done the last few days.

This first project was one I cut out before Christmas. I have used this pattern once before and I love it! The jumper and jacket are great and the hat is cute too. It was actually the very first thing I ever made for Amy. Click here to see. Believe it or not it actually still fits her! I loved it so much that I had to make Amy another one. I only needed to make it one size bigger. And this time I was brave enough to put in a zipper. Can I just say that I love zippers. They are much easier than I thought and just make your outfits so much more functional.
This next one I also cut out before Christmas. I think it is so fun. I used this pattern. It turned out great other than it is really hard to get on. I probably could have gone up a size. I think the fact that it is an empire waist doesn't help either. So I decided to cut up the back of the dress and am now going to insert a zipper. It'll be much better and it won't be a struggle to get her into it anymore.
This next one is actually a jumper my good friend gave to me. She had it all cut out but never sewed it together. So she gave it to me to finish and I think it turned out so cute. I can't wait until it is warm enough for Amy to wear.
I know, I know, you are thinking "There is still more!" I told you we have been cooped up for awhile. :) And on my defense, these first 3 projects were already cut out so all I had to do was sew them together. That cuts down on the time drastically. Anyway, this next one is super cute. I found this way fun tutorial and knew I just had to make it. I wasn't sure what t-shirts to use or what color to make it, so I just did black. I actually used a spandex jumper that I never wore anymore. Now she has a nice black skirt that she can wear to church. You'd think I would have made her one already. Well, now she has one and it is super cute!
Ok. This is the last one. I promise. Yesterday when I went to the mail I had a surprise package from my sister. She has been cleaning our her closets and sent me tons of cool stuff to use to repurpose for clothes for Amy. Well, I grabbed two of the sweaters and got to work. My inspiration for this dress came from some anthropologie style clothes. I think my remake turned out pretty cute. It was actually pretty fun to make. I promise it looks better on her than just laying on the floor.
Well, those are the projects I have been working on lately. I still have tons in my to do stash and now thanks to my sister have a ton more! Oh well, good thing I like to sew!
