Giraffe Quilt

For this next batch of quilts for all the expecting mothers out here, I was in charge of making Amy's quilt. She is having a little boy. It was fun to be able to pick out cute boy fabric and work with some blues instead of all that pink. This was also a momentous project because I learned how to quilt. Yeah! A huge thanks goes to Katie for helping me learn how to do the quilting. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be and it was so much fun. Now I just need to learn all the different ways to do the stitching. Anyway, here is my quilt.
And here is the back. I like how you can see the giraffe outline.
I can't take the credit for designing this quilt because I copied other people's ideas. The stripes came from the Crazy Old Ladies Quilts blog and the giraffe applique was from the Oh Fransson! blog. Maybe one of these days I will be creative enough to come up with my own quilt idea, but for now I will have to borrow. :) Here are all the ladies at the shower with their quilts. They all turned out so fun!
The best part is that all of them LOVED their quilts. Yeah! It was fun to be able to make one and I am so glad that I got to learn how to quilt. I'll have to do it more often now.

I absolutely love this quilt! You did such a fabulous job on the machine quilting, and I adore the binding.
