Fabric Flower Tutorial

I have had a lot of comments on these new fabric flowers I have been making Amy. So I decided to create a little tutorial on how to make them. That way I won't have to try and explain myself everytime someone asks, I can just refer them to this tutorial. They aren't very hard and they are so cute! Hopefully you can all use this and make some fun flower bows for your girls.
You will need:
-two 5-petal flower shapes of varying size
-fabric
-one button
-needle and thread
-hot glue gun
-one ribbon covered alligator clip (follow the instructions on this tutorial if you need help on how to cover your alligator clip.)

Now let's get started. Cut out four flowers of each size. So you will have four big flowers and four smaller ones.
Now fold all the flowers in half and in half again.
Take two bigger flowers and line the edges up. I like to make sure that my folds are all going in the same direction. Tack them together with your needle and thread.
Repeat until all four large flowers are connected.
Now place a smaller folded flower on top offsetting the folded edges. Tack this piece down.
Repeat for the other 3 top flowers.
Now attach your button. You can use a normal button or a covered button or something else if you would like. My favorite are the covered buttons, but I have used both.
After the button is attached, tie off your thread on the back. Now glue on your alligator clip to the back of the flower.
That's it. You are done! Now go make another one. You know you want to. :)

***For a few variations mix up the fabric you use. Make your flowers all one color, each layer a different color, or even each petal a different color.
You can have your child wear them as a bow, attach it to the front of a purse for a fun embellishment, or even make a large one and put on the front of a pillow. How cute would that look in your little girl's room! The possibilities are endless.
