Spring Skirt

Amy had her purple shirt and bow on yesterday and I had some inspiration for a skirt. So I used the tutorial for a 3-tiered skirt that my sister sent me and got to work. Here is my barefoot beauty modeling her new spring skirt.

This skirt was really easy and fun to make. I already have a few ideas for some other ones. The nice thing is this could easily be added onto the bottom of a top and made into a jumper.

Oh yeah, I have a tip for whenever you are doing gathers. Set your machine to the widest, longest zig zag stitch you have, then stitch over dental floss or that string you can buy in the store that's next to the yarn. Just make sure you don't stitch on the dental floss. Anyway, it makes it TONS easier to gather. You just pull the string (or dental floss) and it bunches right up. No more broken threads. Yeah! I am going to do this anytime I have a ruffle or a gather from now on. It saved me tons of time. Woo hoo. I love time saver tips. Anyway, I hope you like the tutorial and that you'll make a skirt of your own. It's super fun!
